Red, white, and rosé — any wine is summer wine when you make it a spritz! And with an endless amount of flavor options, a wine spritz (or “spritzer”) pairs with any meal, at any time of day.

  • Replace the sugary mimosa with a light, fruity, white wine spritz @ brunch.
  • Complete your picnic with the ingredients for rosé spritzers to pair with any chosen lunch.
  • Enjoy your burgers and BBQ al fresco with an herby red wine spritz that’s flavorful and refreshing.

For one glass:

  • .75 cup wine
  • .25 cup club soda
  • Herbs, fruit, or both

Fill a white (or universal) wine glass with ice. Add ingredients, mix, and garnish.

For a batch:

  • 1 bottle of wine
  • 2 cups club soda
  • Herbs, fruit, or both

Add all ingredients to a large pitcher or drink dispenser (*see tip) with ice and stir. Garnish glasses as you serve.

*TIP: Make sure the pitcher has a filter that keeps fruit & herbs from blocking the pour spout (annoying lesson learned). We love this one.

While a slice of fresh fruit is always a winner, there are endless flavor combinations you can make with the herbs and spices you have on-hand. Depending on when, where, and what mood you’re in — there’s always a spritz to match.

Don’t always have herbs? Head over to our Make-Your-Own Mojito article to learn how we overcame that hurdle ourselves.

  • Lemon & Thyme with a dry white wine
  • Strawberry & Basil with a white or rosé
  • Orange & Lemon with a sweet or dry white
  • Thyme & Rosemary in a light red
  • Ginger & peppercorn in a bold red

If you’re drinking your spritz with food, try adding some complementary flavors to your drink. This gives you the best of both worlds: a well-chosen beverage that pairs with your meal without sacrificing the crisp refreshment that quenches your summertime thirst.
